Shop Babies

Here is a special look at the first Cartoon Rob spin off. Its title? Shop Babies. The plan was for Shop Babies to envision Cartoon Rob and his friends/enemies as babies.  The characters as babies took a life of their own. There was definitely promise for greatness. Unfortunately, the first try at a Shop Babies cartoon stunk. How bad could it have been you might ask. The answer lays in the cartoon. Try to enjoy.

Yeah. Dumb. At least Cartoon Rob and his friends look cute as babies. I guess. Right? Right?!?!?

In Living Color

Okay. I think it's time for something a tad bit different. Today will not be a section of a larger story, nor will it be a collection of random one offs. Instead we have a couple of drawings that contain color. Oh yes, it's a special day folks.

Dump Truck 2: Dump Trucker

Today's episode of the Cartoon Rob Dump Truck features a couple outtakes from two previous Cartoon Rob stories. These scenes were cut from the script for various reasons (yes there often is a rough script involved). While they are the left-overs, and may not be of the up most quality, there is some merit in them. I mean, who can ever get enough of Sleepy Cartoon Rob?

First up is scenes cut from The Many Adventures of Cartoon Rob. They were to take place towards the end of the saga, right before Cartoon Rob goes to work. They were cut for being unnecessary towards to overall plot, being uneventful, and for being just plain silly. Well, only one was just plain silly. I'll let you see for yourself. 

 These next two scenes were alternate endings for The Misadventures With Cartoon Dog. Ultimately, it was decided that Cartoon Dog should be left with a little bit of mystery. If it turned out that Cartoon Dog was Cartoon Vin's dog, that mystery would be gone.

 Look on the neck on Cartoon Vin. Sigh, I have no business drawing a cartoon.

Dump Truck

What? It's back? That's Right! It's back! A solid forty eight days later, Cartoon Rob returns! And with this return brings some changes. Well, one change at least. And that change is? A renaming. A decision has been made to start calling the posts containing random drawings "Dump Truck." And, before you ask, yes I will be reusing a joke I tried to use when this type of post was called "Clean Up." Let's see if this name sticks longer this time shall we.


First up, we have a couple scenes taking place under a tree. Why a tree? Cause it's one of the few ways I can convey something that happens outside.

Next is a cave, and then a ghost. Yeah, I don't know.

Once, I found out I wouldn't be going to Disney World when a certain someone was going to go. This was my response. Not really a "Cartoon Rob" I know.

Clean Up 2: Clean Up Harder

Time for some more one off pages of Cartoon Rob! There is pretty much zero context I can provide for these couple of cartoons. While many Cartoon Rob stories have already come up, there is always room for silly little one pages. In fact, most of the Cartoon Rob drawing are a quick ideas that don't need to be part of a lager story. And let's face fact, the long form Cartoon Rob stories tend to be drawn out much farther then they have any right to be.

All there really seems to be to note is with the final sheet. It's an outtake from The Many Adventures. Remember when Cartoon Rob became a giant and then day-dreamed about going on a rampage, punching the moon and then hurting his hand? Well this drawing got rejected. I thought it was was funny cause of how high he jumped into outer space, but something about it was just not right. So let this be a lesson to you, for everything you see on this blog, there are many more drawings that I thought were not good enough. That's right, I mostly give you the A material.
